Kahua Achieves TX-RAMP Certification for Construction Project Management
Kahua, a leading provider of capital program and construction project management information systems (PMIS), announces it has attained TX-RAMP Level 2, the highest-level certification to supply collaborative construction management to State of Texas agencies and the government community.
TX-RAMP (Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program) is a cybersecurity program that was modeled after the similarly named FedRAMP and StateRAMP programs to ensure that cloud computing services that work with federal or state agencies have adequate security controls in place.
TX-RAMP was created by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to provide a method to review the security measures taken by cloud-based products and services that process and transmit data to Texas state agencies. TX-RAMP Level 2 authorization is of specific importance to the Texas Department of Transportation, K-12 schools, higher education entities and all other state agencies with infrastructure and construction projects.
The Texas Department of Information Resources requires TX-RAMP Level 2 authorization for cloud services that process, store or transmit agency data determined to be confidential and a moderate or high impact data resource.
The Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program (TX-RAMP) certification is a natural follow-up to Kahua’s FedRAMP Moderate Authorization and the highest level of StateRAMP Authorization, reaffirming its commitment to data security and compliance. Kahua was able to be part of the TX-RAMP Fast Track Assessment, a streamlined process designed to expedite certification, offered to cloud service providers by leveraging its existing FedRAMP and StateRAMP authorizations.
